Yet Another Award for the 2012 Hyundai Veloster

The 2012 Hyundai Veloster keeps turing heads and winning awards. The three-door coupe Veloster just brought in the Auto Style Award from eCityofStyle.

The Veloster is perhaps Hyundai's most successful execution of its new design language, called Fluidic Sculpture. From the tight front end to the sculpted side creases to the powerful wheel arches, the Veloster's exterior is both aggressive and sleek. European design chief Thomas Burkle describes it best, "We used strong, fluid lines to sculpt a car which looks athletic while exuding a sense of constant motion, even when stationary."

This isn't the first time that Hyundai won an award from eCityofStyle; in 2011 the Hyundai Equus won the same Auto Style Award.

Hyundai Wins Design Award

Hyundai, and First Hyundai of New England, over the years have surprised a lot of people. Hyundai recently is going through a rebranding and redesign phase for their cars, and it is paying off. Hyundai is now slated as the fastest growing car company, and the redesign on their cars are catching a lot of attention. So much attention that the 2012 Hyundai i40 Wagon brought in the Golden Award at the EuroCarBody Conference in Germany.

Receiving an award like this is very impressive, especially since it is not only the first time an Asian automaker won this award, but it is also the first time Hyundai entered the competition.

The Hyundai i40 Wagon beat out some impressive competition including the Audi A6, Mercedes-Benz B class, BMW 1 series and the Mazda CX-5. As well as the design, the judges were also impressed with the Hyundai i40 Wagon's engineering, use of materials and efficiency.

I haven't been able to find if or when the Hyundai i40 is coming to the states, but when it does be assured that First Hyundai will have it in their show room.

2013 Hyundai Elantra

The 2013 Hyundai Elantra Coupe, which is scheduled to make its official U.S. premiere at the L.A. Auto Show (November 18 - 27), has been seen sitting in a parking lot not far away from Hyundai Motor America’s headquarters.

Because of the tarp we can't tell much about the car besides that it will be a two door coupe. The forth generation of the Elantra Coupe also sports a new alloy-wheels design and small rear spoiler, while distinctive headlights confirm this is definitely the Elantra 4-door sedan sibling model.

At this point we have no confirmed information about the 2013 Elantra Coupe’s powertrain options and performance figures, however, we are expecting the 2-door coupe to feature the same 148-horsepower 1.8L Nu four-cylinder engine as found under the hood of the 2012 Hyundai Elantra sedan; do remember this is complete speculation.

A six-speed manual transmission is expected to be available across all trim levels, while six-speed automatic gearbox will be optional.
